Saturday Mornings

Beginning Saturday, December 2, St. Mary of Pine Bluff will be offering a Holy Hour of Adoration, Confessions and the Rosary, in the hour prior to the Saturday morning Mass. Also, this will mark the beginning of regular Traditional Latin Low Masses on Saturday mornings. During Advent, the Traditional Latin Mass will be followed by altar server training for young men and adult men.

7:00am – Holy Hour of Adoration, Confessions, Rosary

8:00am – Traditional Latin Mass

Following Mass – Traditional Latin Mass Altar Server Training

(For more information about server training, contact James Howard)

Rorate Masses

On the two Saturdays of December 9 & 16, St. Mary of Pine Bluff will offer Rorate Masses. Rorate Caeli Mass is a traditional Advent devotion wherein the Mass of the Blessed Virgin Mary for Advent is offered just before dawn. The interplay of light and darkness speak to the meaning of Advent and the coming of the Light of the world. The Rorate Mass is lit only by candlelight. In the dimly lit setting, priests and faithful prepare to honor the Light of the world, Who is soon to be born, and offer praise to God for the gift of Our Lady. Please note that Saturday mornings will begin one hour earlier on December 9 & 16:

6:00am – Holy Hour of Adoration, Confessions, Rosary

7:00am – Rorate Mass

Following Mass – Traditional Latin Mass Altar Server Training

40 Hours Devotion

From Friday afternoon, December 15 to Sunday afternoon, December 17, St. Mary’s will offer 40 Hours Devotion (there are breaks for such things as Masses and Bishop’s talk). For over 500 years one of the most beautiful of all Catholic devotions has been the one known as Quarant Ore, or Forty Hours. The Blessed Sacrament is solemnly exposed for 40 hours outside the tabernacle and continuously adored by the faithful.

Sunday Vespers and Potluck

The first observance of Sunday Vespers will be on Sunday, November 26, 2017 at 4:30 PM. In Advent, this will be on Sunday, December 17. These will be offered at St. Mary of Pine Bluff every third Sunday of the month. Vespers will be sung in the church, and the potluck will take place in the school gymnasium. This is intended to be a family-friendly event. People are welcome to attend either Vespers, the potluck, or both.
