While God knows better than I do, I absolutely 100% do not believe the world is coming to an end on Saturday.

That being said, I believe these signs on earth and in the sky, mimic the time leading up to Jonah’s warning to Nineveh. These signs left the Ninevites more open to Jonah’s warning. Recall that prayer and penance caused God to relent in punishing Nineveh. Today, like Jonah, our Lady has been sent to us to instruct us to pray the rosary, wear the scapular and become Consecrated to Jesus through Mary.

I pray that the “Victim Souls” – some 50,000+ willing to risk the taunts of the world – who have accepted their call (Novena for Our Nation) to offer this prayer and penance, is enough to appease God.

What I do believe is that God, as a perfect parent, is not going to just hand out participation trophies. I believe we are long overdue for a justifiable spanking; a minor chastisement that will compel the world to turn to God, once again.

“And that servant who knew his master’s will but did not get ready or act according to his will, will receive a severe beating. But the one who did not know, and did what deserved a beating, will receive a light beating. Everyone to whom much was given, of him much will be required, and from him to whom they entrusted much, they will demand the more.” (Luke 12:47-48)

We know better. We need to pray for those who don’t.

I don’t know if God will act on Saturday, or if this is more about getting our attention for our future “potential” spanking, but we must continue to reform our lives, pray and do penance. Also, remember that Jonah waited for a “justifiable spanking” that did not come (at least, not at that time). God will extend His love and mercy in the way this “perfect parent” sees fit.
