How God Usually Answers the Prayers of the Underdog
Many souls, today, seem to be falling into despair. Those on the “devil’s team” look like they are, literally, getting away with murder. The devil’s team believes that anything is on the table, in their lust for power and control. So, if one needs to lie, cheat and steal … well, then, that’s justified when so much is at stake, says those on the devil’s team. This, while our team “plays by the rules.” Ethics, principles and morals must always be our guideposts, says “God’s team.” Yet, we look around, and it seems the devil’s team is winning.
Today’s Gospel appears at a providential moment in time: “There is nothing concealed that will not be revealed,
nor secret that will not be known” (Luke 12:2). Jesus is appealing to us to be courageous and trusting under persecution. And, I believe, Jesus is revealing how our heart-felt and believing prayers are usually answered.
Why do I say this Gospel’s timing is providential? Just in the past two days, an historic report broke when the NY Post published the smoking gun story releasing emails and connecting the dots on the apparent pay-for-influence scheme involving Hunter, Joe, and the Ukrainian firm Burisma. This comes just three weeks before the election.
Lest we forget, something very similar occurred in 2016, as we were calling out to God to save us from the evil baby-killing forces to come into power.
- On October 7 (Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary), we concluded the Novena for Our Nation. That very same day, the Wikileaks were made public.
- As the election drew near, many saw the media attacks as severe, and it seemed the polls were not looking in favor of a future Presidential candidate who would defend life. We then all prayed a St. Jude Novena (Oct. 20-28), leading to the Feast of St. Jude, who is the Patron Saint of lost causes. On October 28, on the Feast of St. Jude, F.B.I. director James Comey reopened the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s emails.
There is nothing concealed that will not be revealed,
nor secret that will not be known” (Luke 12:2).
Please, please, please continue to pray WITH BELIEF!! God will answer our prayers, and justice will take place!
Never forget … God is more powerful than the devil!!
