My Primary Call as a Priest
MY PRIMARY CALL AS A PRIEST
No matter what the results of today’s new document on the TLM (See HERE), I will maintain my passion to assist souls in receiving the gateway Gift of the Holy Spirit – Fear of the Lord (Awe & Wonder); to lead souls into the arms of God and, ultimately, into the paradise of heaven. I am convinced that this is my primary role as a priest.
Therefore, I will remain steadfast in offering the Ordinary Form in its purest form (photo shows Ordinary Form at St. Mary’s), void of post-Vatican II innovations that sought to strip the Mass of a sense of the sacred; a sense of the transcendent.
This ten-year experiment here at St. Mary’s of Pine Bluff has proved wildly successful as the Ordinary Form offered in this purified way has been the cure for the illness of agnosticism and acedia, that is endemic throughout the world. I have heard countless moving stories of those, especially young adults, who witness the Mass offered in this way and, immediately, leave behind their careless agnosticism, becoming on fire with the Holy Spirit and completely devoted to God.
I will be praying with all my heart, mind, soul and strength that the bishops’ call for a “Eucharistic Revival” is directed, primarily, in this need to weed out innovations never called for in the Vatican II document on the Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy: Sacrosanctum Concilium.
Let’s never forget that our call is to draw nearer unto the Lord, please Him in every way, love and care for our neighbor and to reach our final destiny in the eternal paradise of heaven.
