I believe authority was given to the holy Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone, Archbishop of San Francisco, California, over the very place the fissure opened and the smoke of Satan entered into America.
Exactly 50 years from this fateful eruption of evil, and on the 100th Anniversary of Fatima, Archbishop Cordileone grasped hold of that authority and looked to seal the fissure that opened a half century prior.
On October 7, 2017, in the centennial year of Fatima, Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone proclaimed his “Call to Spiritual Arms” as he consecrated his Archdiocese to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. If we ever hope to reverse the curse in America, we simply must adhere to the one who stands in authority over the place where Satan first entered our nation.
Literally, a fissure occurred in America, and the smoke of Satan entered into San Francisco and spread across our nation …
On “witches night,” April 30, 1966, exactly 50 years from the Angel’s appearance to the children in Fatima in 1916, Anton LaVey founded the “First Satanic Church” in San Francisco, CA. Required reading for members was “The Satanic Bible.” The central theme of the Satanic Bible is, “Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law.” Of course this stands in direct opposition to the very last words uttered by the Blessed Mother: “Do whatever He tells you.”
The following Summer, the hippie movement and it’s iconic “sexual revolution,” exploded onto the world scene, when in 1967, “The Summer of Love” saw 100,000 people converged in the Haight-Ashbury neighborhood of San Francisco. In fact, this song “San Francisco” by the Mamas and Papas, depicting the Summer of Love, was released on May 13, 1967, the 50th anniversary of our Lady’s first appearance at Fatima. Charlie Manson, and his murderous cult following, grew out of this “Summer of Love” event in San Francisco.
While the rumblings of a man-centered, God-maligning spirit was everywhere, the volcanic explosion occurred in San Francisco at this 50 year mark since the appearances of the Angel and Our Lady in Fatima. Although hippies also gathered in major cities across the U.S., Canada and Europe, San Francisco remained the epicenter of the hippie movement and the sexual revolution. The city became even more of a melting pot of politics, music, drugs, and the total lack of sexual and social inhibition than it already was. As the hippie counterculture movement came further forward into public awareness, the activities centered therein became a defining moment of the 1960s, causing numerous ‘ordinary citizens’ to begin questioning everything and anything about them and their environment as a result.
The Church was not immune to this rebellious and secular spirit. Scores of Catholics would leave the Church. Priestly and religious vocations would dry up. Mass attendance would sharply decline. Catholic clergy and laity would no longer be on the same page in terms of belief and behavior. And as for many church-goers that would remain, their morals and lifestyle would prove to be comparable to non-Catholics.
By 1972, Pope Paul VI recognized this explosion of evil in these times. In fact, on June 29, 1972 Pope Paul VI confirmed just that when he addressed his audience. He said, “It is as if from some mysterious crack, no, it is not mysterious, from some crack the smoke of Satan has entered the temple of God.” The following year the infamous case of Roe v. Wade would legalize abortion in all states.
Fast-forward to this past October 7, 2017. As wildfires blazed throughout the Archdiocese of San Francisco and “smoke” filled the air, the holy and orthodox Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone (name means “heart of a lion”), a strong supporter of the Traditional Latin Mass, chose the Feast of Our Lady of Victory (Our Lady of the Rosary), October 7, 2017, to consecrate the Archdiocese of San Francisco to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
In his monumental homily entitled, “Fatima: A Call to Spiritual Arms for the Salvation and Peace of the World,” Archbishop Cordileone gives us “THE” battle plan to “reverse the curse” of a nation under the spell of a satanic “Do what thou wilt,” man-centered cult that erupted in the 1960s in San Francisco.
As I said, this holy Archbishop stood “in authority” over the very place the fissure opened and the smoke of Satan entered into America, and so we must follow his inspired lead.
I strongly urge you to read Archbishop Cordileone’s monumental homily (HERE), but I will extract the nuts and bolts “spiritual warfare plan” here.
As Archbishop Cordileone states,
For 100 years we ignored the message of Fatima; or, perhaps, it is not so much the message we ignored, for we are well aware of the warnings and the history that resulted. Rather, it is the requests we ignored. But we cannot afford to do so any longer. We have to pay attention. We have to do what she told the waiters at Cana: do whatever he tells you [You see? This is the “reverse” of “Do what thou wilt”] And what does Christ tell us to do? He reveals this in the requests our Lady made at Fatima. It is now time to heed those requests. We might not have the power to change world history, but we can change what happens in our own families and communities if we heed the message. This next century can be radically different from the last one, but only if we heed the message and respond to the requests.
Which means that what we are doing today cannot be relegated to being simply a moving event and pleasant memory in the history of our Archdiocese. Far from being something we check off on a to-do list, what we are about today is nothing less than a call to arms: to spiritual arms. We are living in a time and place of intense spiritual battle, and only in taking up spiritual arms will we alleviate the spiritual disease that is at the root of so much of the physical and mental suffering in the world today. It is time to leave the sensational aside, and respond to the requests of our Lady at Fatima.
What did she ask us to do? It should come as no surprise, because it is the central part of her message wherever and whenever she appears: prayer, penance and adoration. And she was very clear at Fatima about the twofold purpose of this request: to save souls from hell, and to establish peace in the world. The message of Fatima was not only about the temporal order but, above all, the eternal order. In both orders, the stakes could not be higher: world peace and eternal salvation! I therefore call on all of the faithful of the Archdiocese of San Francisco to take to heart this threefold recipe for peace and salvation, as our Lady has asked us.
Notice that Archbishop Cordileone does not waste any time “pinpointing” the “Do what thou wilt” Satanic spirit ushered through his Archdiocese to the world by drawing great attention to Mary’s words that crush the Satanic lie,” as Mary said, “Do whatever He tells you.” “Do what thou wilt” disconnects us from the power of grace … “Do whatever He tells you” cleaves us to the Vine and opens wide the flow of supernatural grace in our lives.
Here is Archbishop Cordileone’s Battle Plan to “Reverse the Curse”:
Prayer: Our Lady has asked us specifically to pray the Rosary daily. I ask every Catholic in the Archdiocese of San Francisco, if you are not doing so already, to pray the Rosary every day. And I ask all families to pray the Rosary together at least once a week. (Exactly one year from this “Call to Spiritual Arms,” our entire nation will, simultaneously, be praying the Rosary together. For more information, go to rosarycoasttolcoast.com)
Penance: Most especially we must take up the spiritual arm of penance, for it is a powerful weapon in our spiritual arsenal that we have woefully ignored for far too long. The reform of the discipline of penitential practice in the Church, far from denying the importance of it, was meant to instill a more mature spirit of appropriating this hallmark of Christian life in the life of the individual believer. Dedicate Friday as a day of penance in honor of the day that our Lord died for us, selecting one concrete form of bodily fasting to observe on this day, whether that be abstaining from meat or another type of food or from some type of drink they normally enjoy, or omitting a meal altogether. (We must) have more serious and frequent recourse to the sacrament of Penance. There can be no spiritual revival, and especially a revival of Eucharistic devotion, without a renewal in our practice of the sacrament of Reconciliation. I call on all of the faithful of the Archdiocese of San Francisco to increase the sincerity and frequency with which they avail themselves of this sacrament, and, as a minimum, to confess their sins in the sacrament at least once a month.
Adoration: All of our devotion, just as all of our penitential practices, must lead to adoration of God. The adoration our Lady asks for is meant to purify us of our inclinations to worship the false gods of contemporary society, and to give ourselves over to single-hearted worship of the one, true God. I ask every Catholic in the Archdiocese of San Francisco to dedicate some time each week to pray before the Blessed Sacrament. If it is not possible during the week, take some time before or after Sunday Mass to pray on your knees before our Lord present in the tabernacle. At least some time every week praying before the presence of our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament – Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity – will fulfill his desire that we ask him for mercy. And of course, our Lady also asked us to observe the devotion of the First Five Saturdays, precisely right after the children received the vision of hell, when she also asked for devotion to her Immaculate Heart. The devotion consists of attending Mass and receiving Communion in reparation for sins on five consecutive first Saturdays of the month shortly after or before going to Confession and spending a quarter of an hour praying five decades of the Rosary.
All of these “spiritual warfare initiatives” point to a deeper, underlying truth … This has been a secular war on the supernatural. So, we claim the Rosary as our supernatural weapon, we see acts of penance as a way to supernaturally intensify our prayers, we purify our soul and don the supernatural armor of grace through the Sacrament of Penance, and we deepen our faith in the Holy Eucharist and the power obtained by receiving it through Adoration. The counter-revolution to the counter-revolution is our belief and reliance on the power of supernatural grace.
Did the good and holy Archbishop just “seal the original satanic hole (fissure)?” Recall that Our Lady promised, “In the end, My Immaculate Heart will triumph.”
