St. Joseph Strong – The Time is Now for Men to Rise Up!
This “St. Joseph Strong Challenge Coin” is about authority and strength. In God’s amazing design, He has given authority to men to be the spiritual heads of their homes. This is an authority to even drive out unclean spirits from their homes! Yes! To drive out demons!
But, that authority cannot be given to any man who has not, first, given over his authority to God and the truths that come from God. St. John the Baptist put it best: “He must increase, I must decrease” -John 3:30. This is what it means to be God Strong; to be “St. Joseph Strong.”
Recently, the kicker for the Super Bowl Champs, Kansas City Chiefs, was given a platform (a big lampstand) to let his light shine to others. Harrison Butker showed, precisely, what it means to be “St. Joseph Strong.” After being struck by the glory of God in experiencing serious and reverent Masses, he came to understand his true identity as a Catholic man; as a St. Joseph for his home. What did he do then? He went to Confession, after many years of wandering around away from his Catholic faith, searching for what is True. In that moment, he understood, with laser focus, who he was.
When asked if he prayed for a win in the Super Bowl, he said,
“No, I pray to be a good husband and father.”
What is fascinating is that the last time the Kansas City Chiefs won the Super Bowl was 1970, the very year the Novus Ordo Mass was promulgated. The Super Bowl trophy is name after Coach Vince Lombardi who, like Harrison Butker, not only went to daily Mass, but served at the Traditional Latin Mass.
It was Coach Vince Lombardi who said,
“Perfection is not attainable. But if we chase perfection, we can catch excellence.”
MEN!! We need to pray like this!!
“No (I don’t pray for worldly rewards), I pray to be a good husband and father.”
And then we must know, every blessing will come to the homes of fathers who take up their role as providers, protectors and spiritual leaders of their families, even by the authority given to you from God to drive out unclean spirits from your homes!
This goes to the heart of … “Why we are losing in this battle of spiritual warfare in our times, and how do we stem the tide and begin to reclaim surrendered ground.”
Jesus weeps over Jerusalem …
As Jesus drew near Jerusalem,
he saw the city and wept over it, saying,
“If this day you only knew what makes for peace–
but now it is hidden from your eyes.
For the days are coming upon you
when your enemies will raise a palisade against you;
they will encircle you and hem you in on all sides.
They will smash you to the ground and your children within you,
and they will not leave one stone upon another within you
because you did not recognize the time of your visitation.” -Luke 19:41-45
“If this day you only knew what makes for peace …” What does make for peace? Notice Jesus goes on to point to the impending destruction of Jerusalem. In essence, Jesus was noting that Jerusalem was “vulnerable to attack” … they had become weak, and their enemies were ready to take advantage of this opportunity. Of course, Jesus was not referring to their cache of spears, swords and arrows … but their “spiritual weakness.”
We know that rarely, if ever, will evil seek compromise or sit down for negotiations, as it is, literally, “hell bent” on conquering new territory; seizing control. So, evil looks for “weaknesses” … “breaches in the wall.” Jerusalem had become spiritually weak and, therefore, vulnerable to attack. Jesus wept because they did not understand that, as Ronald Reagan once said, “We maintain the peace through our strength; weakness only invites aggression.”
Make no mistake about it, Jesus weeps over our own spiritual weakness in our times. Why? Because He knows we have made ourselves vulnerable to attack. In far too many homes, instead of driving out demons, men are opening portals for demons, through internet porn and masturbation.
THE TIME IS NOW FOR MEN TO RISE UP!! We must become strong in the Lord and in His mighty power! (Eph 6:10).
St. Joseph Strong Challenge Coin
Challenge Coins date back to WWI (some say as far back as the Roman Empire) and were usually given to soldiers by a commanding officer, and were meant to be a sign of camaraderie in facing the demands of some particular challenge. In most cases, it would be military units during a wartime period. We are in Spiritual Warfare!
“The Lord will give strength to his people; the Lord will bless his people with peace.” -Psalm 29:11. And, as I said, President Ronald Reagan once said, “We maintain the peace through our strength; weakness only invites aggression.” This “Peace Through Strength Challenge” is about our resolve to become strong in God’s supernatural power; the only power capable of defeating the satanic forces of evil (Ephesians 6:10-12). Carry this coin as a constant reminder of your resolve to accept the call to become supernaturally strong; to become “St. Joseph Strong!!”
On the front of the coin is the image of image of St. Joseph with the Child, Jesus. The Latin inscription calls upon the two most important attributes of St. Joseph: Most Chaste and Terror of Demons.
The heart of St. Joseph is surrounded by lilies, and he is often depicted holding lilies. Lilies are the traditional symbol for St. Joseph being a chaste man.
We know that the sin of impurity has consumed modern man (easy access porn and masturbation), removing the glory of God’s supernatural grace from the souls of men, leaving them powerless to be the spiritual leaders of their families, and no power to drive out demons from their homes.
Carrying this blessed (get it blessed by your priest) St. Joseph Strong Challenge Coin, grants extra supernatural strength and is a constant reminder to men to remain chaste and, therefore, “St. Joseph Strong.”

St Joseph, most chaste and terror of demons. We honor your most Chaste Heart with faith and love, through your intercession may God grant us the grace to live with holy purity of soul and body and the strength to resist all attacks and temptations by the Devil.
On the reverse side of the coin is the image of St. Michael the Archangel. The image comes from a very famous 6th century painting of St. Michael, which hangs in Santa Maria della Concezione in Rome. In this spiritual battle, we call out to St. Michael the Archangel. The inscription, “defénde nos in proélio,” which is Latin for “Defend us in battle,” comes from the St. Michael Prayer which is prayed after all Low Masses in the Extraordinary Form.
