Last night, with just an hour or two to go, I put out a prayer request on social media that went like this …
Please, let’s pray a Hail Mary, Our Father & Glory Be together at 9:21 PM (CST or Your time).
This will be the 21st minute of the 21st hour on the final 21st day of the 21st year of the 21st century.
Let’s ask God for a Holy Spirit Revival in our world!
I’ve contended that we have experienced several great social vicissitudes (a change of circumstances, typically one that is unwelcome or unpleasant) in our lives since October 6, 2019. I wrote about it HERE.
Bottom line? We were weak, so evil advanced to take control. We “allowed” evil to advance, while we were engrossed in our worldly wants and desires.
However, I am seeing the signs of this Holy Spirit Revival, like viewing the sliver of the sun on the horizon at dawn’s early light. How will this light begin to grow brighter?
In the Canticle of Mary, in today’s Gospel, we hear of a time when God steps in to help “those who fear Him.” God’s mercy is granted to those who have as their highest priority to please God; afraid of ever disappointing Him. In all humility, we need to get to that place.
He has mercy on those who fear him
in every generation.
He has shown the strength of his arm,
and has scattered the proud in their conceit.
He has cast down the mighty from their thrones
and has lifted up the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things,
and the rich he has sent away empty.
December 21, 2021 also marked the one-year anniversary of the “Christmas Star.” With some research, one discovers that the last time this appeared was almost 800 years ago, in the year 1226. The significant event in 1226, the last time this celestial event occurred, was the Roman Catholic practice of public adoration of the Blessed Sacrament outside of Mass spreads from monasteries to parishes (See HERE). Literally, this was the year Eucharistic Adoration went viral!
Mary reminds us that God did not forget his people as they continued throughout the Old Testament to seek His Face (equivalent to Eucharistic Adoration). And He doesn’t forget us as we beseech Him for graces and blessings!
In the words of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI,
“Often, his plan is hidden under the opaque terrain of human vicissitudes, in which the ‘proud,’ the ‘mighty’ and the ‘rich’ triumph. However, in the end, his secret strength is destined to manifest who God’s real favorites are: the ‘faithful’ to his Word, ‘the humble,’ ‘the hungry,’ ‘his servant Israel,’ namely, the community of the People of God that, as Mary, is constituted by those who are ‘poor,’ pure, and simple of heart.”
Stay hopeful. Seek His face (Adoration). He is merciful. He is Coming!
