THE APA DID THIS
The primary reason we are experiencing chaos and mayhem today is the fault of the modern “woke” American Psychological Association (APA).
I have a bachelor degree in psychology, and I witnessed the unraveling of the APA. One “red flag” was doing my clinical pastoral education at a mental institution. Almost the entire staff was totally immersed in Wicca. I was like a deer in headlights.
Here, I am mostly referring to the advice the APA has been giving to parents since the 1970s. Try doing an internet search on temper tantrums. What should parents do? Stay calm, Ignore the tantrum, Keep them safe. This, while parents are warned never to be firm and clear in their disapproval of this behavior.
You want to know why our culture is unraveling? Because, as the expression goes, “the inmates were running the asylum” (meaning, leadership is surrendered to those supposedly being led) in the vast majority of homes in the past 50 years.
Look around. We are being run by those who scream the loudest. It is one big “temper tantrum.” Why? Because generations of children, now adults, were affirmed that “I want it! I want it! I want it!” is actually an effective tool for getting one’s way. They are stunted in their development … because of the APA.
Many want to blame the boomers for raising spoiled brats. There is some truth in that. But, this was a generation that had a clear understanding of right vs. wrong – because their parents were firm and clear – but were influenced by what was once one of the most trusted institutions … the APA.
Recently, I pointed to an era, in my childhood, when we could leave our keys in the car. Right vs. wrong was absolutely clear in a generation raised by loving parents who were strict and clear in the formation of their children. It was clear that bad behavior (i.e., crime) had consequences. Now, criminals are all but lauded, and certainly not punished. Helping those with mental disorders is now considered outdated and, potentially, damaging to those in need of this help. Just as the APA warned parents that firm and clear discipline would damage the psyche of their children.
Now those who, out of a deep love and concern, are choosing the psychologically healthy way of being firm and clear in their rebukes of the path the “spoiled brats” of our culture want to take us, are being persecuted for being what? Mean? I guess so, according to the “woke” APA.
The failed experiment of placating bad behavior, advocated by the American Psychological Association, must come to an end, before our culture completely implodes.
As for me? I will continue to be firm and clear in my rebukes of the modern anti-God path the “spoiled brats” in charge are leading us down. Why? Because I actually love you all. And, I want to recover the time we could leave our keys in the car.
